Capitalism is shit -
motherfuckers!
We have bought into the idea
that our only value
is the monetary value
we can produce.
The most beautiful things
the things that make life worth living,
completely disregarded -
in favour of
financial accounts.
We have been conned,
to live our lives,
creating value -
exchanging value,
for a select few.
We evaluate ourselves,
by superficial standards,
that are not our making.
We live desperately -
unable to match the expectations
of a system
designed to consume itself.
To be free,
we must,
begin to challenge
the values we inherited.
Find things to love
to cherish
that have zero
economic value.
We think that
“freedom”
is about voting
about being able to do whatever
but
even more
it is the freedom
of our hearts.
Others are not valuable
based on a spreadsheet
based on social currency.
Capitalism will only be dismantled
within each of us.
