Walking the path with my wife -
it stretches from our house hours in both directions.
I prefer the evening,
when the sun is not so intense,
but hits the bush at angles.

We are on our second puppy walking this track,
missing the first one -
still.

Tracy, Moksha and I
walking the track each evening -
this is the sort of life I dreamed of,
but now that it is here,
I imagine other things I want.

Can we never walk the path that we are on?
Must we always be imagining another?

Little troubles,
diversions,
annoyances -
keeping me from focusing on the path
and its bliss.

It is Spring and the koru are unfurling,
so many koru in sight -
some springing up on their own,
others in a chorus from a shared fern -
new beginnings,
hope.

This is our path -
it is the one we chose,
it is the one we love.

Gratitude,
Gratitude,
Gratitude.
